How to use Parentally

1. What type of extra care and support can I find on Parentally

You will find on Parentally a wide range of services to help you thrive during Pregnancy, Birth, Postpartum, and early Parenthood. They showcase a range of different expertise, including: Pregnancy massages, Acupuncture, Yoga & Fitness, Birth preparation courses, Doulas, Kraamzorg, Lactation and Child sleep support, Postpartum recovery and more.

→ The consultations you book with our providers can be delivered in 3 ways: in person at home, in person at the provider’s office and/or online via video consultation.

Our platform is also a valuable source of information on topics related to Pregnancy, Birth, Postpartum and Parenting. Don’t forget to look at “Our Categories” page and our Blog (coming soon) to learn more on these subjects.

IMPORTANT: The services and information offered on Parentally aim to complement the ones provided by your midwife and traditional healthcare providers (HCP). They strive to provide you with holistic and natural solutions to overcome your Pregnancy, Birth, Postpartum and Parenting challenges. Consultations with our providers should never replace a consultation with your GP or other relevant HCP to treat a medical condition. Our information content should not be taken as medical or personalized advice.

2. What are Listings and Services

Each provider on Parentally usually has one Listing. This listing allows them to present themselves and their company, the languages they speak, their diplomas and certification, the type of consultations they offer. It also features their whole catalogue of services with description, prices, availability, and terms and conditions.

A Provider can sometimes have several Listings for instance if they offer different types of services with specific availability. That could be the case for private vs. group sessions for example.

3. How to search for the right services from our providers

Anyone can use the platform to do some research. It’s easy, you just need to enter your criteria in the search engine located on the homepage:

  1. Enter your location: you can enter your home city or leave the field blank if you are not particularly looking for a provider near you
  2. Choose the category or subcategory in which you are interested. You can choose one or more if you want to. When choosing Birth, Pregnancy or Postpartum, you will search among the listings from all the related subcategories
  3. Enter relevant keywords, if any, such as “back pain” or “hypnobirthing”
  4. (Optional) Choose a date and time if you are looking for help at a specific time
  5. Hit “Search”

You will then be redirected to a search results page featuring the Listings of the providers matching your criteria.

Show map: To view services offered near you, you can also choose to Show or Hide the map to view the location of the providers by switching the “Show map” cursor on/off.

→ Click on a Listing to learn more about the provider and view their catalogue of services, in the “Services” tab. The services that best match your criteria will be featured at the top of the list. Other services from the same provider will be featured in the following “Other services that you might also be interested in” section.

4. How to sort and filter Listings on the Search results page

There are 3 types of filters allowing you to sort your Listings:

  1. Price: allows you to set a price range for the desired service
  2. Sort: allows you to sort results according to recommendations, price and distance
  3. Filters: allows you to filter services based on set criteria such as the languages spoken by the provider and the type of consultations they can provide (in person at your home, in person at their office, and/or video consultations)

5. How to find a provider that speaks your language

You can find a provider that speaks your language by clicking on “Filter” (top-right corner) on a search results page and choosing the desired language in the “Spoken languages” section. 
You can also check if a provider speaks your language by looking at their Listing page.

6. How to create an account and update your profile to be able to use all the features

An account is required to use the full set of features offered by Parentally. Your account will allow you to:

  • Directly get in touch with providers through the built-in messenger
  • Send booking request and pay for your consultation online
  • Use the built-in video consultation tool (no download or installation required)
  • Leave reviews

Creating your account is easy and can be done in just a few minutes:

  1. Click on Register
  2. Choose “I am an expectant or new parent”
  3. Fill in all the fields to identify yourself (your full name will never be disclosed on the platform or to the provider. Only your first name and first letter of your last name will be shared) 
  4. Choose a password 
  5. Accept our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy
  6. You will receive an email from us with a link to validate your email address. Please click on that link (check your Spam folders if you don’t see the email.)
  7. That’s it, you now have access to all of Parentally’s features!

Once logged into your account, you will be able to enter more information about yourself in "My Profile." Not all fields are mandatory and you should only share these information if you wish so. The section [Payment details] should be filled in so we can send you a wire transfer in case of a reimbursement.

7. How to get in touch with the providers

You must have an account and be logged in to be able to be able to get in touch with a provider. Once logged in, click on the providers’ Listing and click on the “Policies” tab. Then scroll down a bit until you reach the “About the provider” section. From there, you can click on the “Contact me” button to get in touch with the provider and send them a message. The provider will be notified of your message per email. You will also receive a notification per email once the provider replies.

You can also very easily book a free online consult with the providers who offer one so you can ask for more information and see if you are a good click.

Please note that we do not share your email address or telephone number with a provider until after you have booked a consultation with them, and this only to facilitate communications between both parties.

After a booking request has been accepted, you also receive all relevant contact details from the provider: mobile phone number, email and service location address.

8. How to check a provider’s availability

To check a provider’s availability, click on the “Availability” tab on his Listing page. The dates and time ranges that are not available are displayed in red. The ones that are available are in green. Availabilities are directly updated by the providers themselves. We at Parentally are not responsible for calendars that are not up-to-date or wrongly updated. We also cannot guarantee the availability of a provider. 

If you have any doubt, don’t hesitate to contact the provider directly by using the “Contact me” button to make sure they are available at your desired date and time.

9. How to view a provider’s profile

To view a provider’s profile, click on their Listing and scroll down to the “About the provider” section. From there, you can click on “View public profile” and you will be able to view the provider’s profile with their Listing(s), reviews, photo and presentation.

10. How to read a provider’s reviews

Users of Parentally can review providers after their consultation with them. The review includes a rating (up to 5 stars) and a comment. To read all the reviews for a provider, click on the “Policies” tab on their Listing page and scroll down to the “About the provider” section. Then click on “View public profile” to view their presentation, the link to their Listing, and the details of all their reviews.

11. How to add a provider to your favorites

You can easily add a provider to your favorites by clicking on the small red heart located at the top of their Listing page. Once you've added a provider to your favorites, it is added to your Favorites. You can acces this page by clicking in the top-right drop down menu and click on Favorite. You don't have to create an account to choose favorites. They are saved thanks to cookies. Just make sure that cookies are enabled or that you don't deleted if you want to keep your favorites.

12. How to know how a service/consultation is delivered

Consultation can be delivered in 3 ways: in person at the provider’s office, in person at your home or via video consultation. You can view the types of consultation a provider is offering in general by looking at their Listing page. However, please be aware that the type of consultation is always specific to a service. Therefore, please make sure to check the service description to know in which way it can be delivered. When several types of deliveries are available for the same service, please let your provider know which is your desired type by leaving him a message upon placing your booking request. Before the consultation, make sure you and the provider have clearly agreed on a type of delivery to avoid any misunderstanding. You can contact the provider at any time using the built-in messenger feature or by contacting them using their contact details at the top of your booking details page.

13. How to place a booking request and pay online

You have found a service that matches your needs and requirements, congratulations! You are now ready to place a booking request. If you have any doubts or questions, we always recommend you to contact the provider first via the built-in “Contact me” feature. If a service is delivered over multiple sessions, please choose the date of the first session and arrange the following dates with your provider directly.

IMPORTANT: Please note that placing a booking request is binding. By doing so, you accept our General Terms and Conditions, as well as the provider’s cancellation policy, and you commit to paying for the consultation should the provider accept your booking request. 

To proceed with placing a booking request, go to the desired service and click on the button “Add”, and choose the quantity. Then scroll back up to the top-right of the page to choose the desired date and time. Click on “Book now” when you are ready. You will be redirected to the Checkout page to proceed with the payment. Please review the details of your booking request carefully. 

If you want to make changes to your booking request, you can click on “Edit” and modify its details.
You can also add a message to the attention of the provider if you wish to, for instance to specify which type of delivery you would prefer for the consultation when several choices are possible.
Then review and accept the Terms and Conditions before clicking on “Continue.”
On the payment page, choose your method of payment and enter the payment details, then hit “Pay.” Once the payment is approved, you will be directly redirected to your Booking summary page. 

14. How to view your booking details

Once your booking request is placed and its payment confirmed, you will automatically be redirected to your booking page. You can also always access your bookings by logging into your account > clicking on your name at the top of the page to show the menu > clicking on Bookings. This page will show you all the booking requests you have placed. Click on “Show” to view the Booking details page.

The Booking details page will show you a summary of your booking. If you’ve just placed the booking request, the booking status will show as “pending” until the provider accepts or declines it. You will also find on this page the button to join the video consultation, should you have opted for one.

15. How to get an invoice

Invoices are issued by the Providers themselves. Please get in touch with your Provider to get the invoice for your consultation.

16. How to cancel or modify a booking request or confirmed booking

To cancel a booking request or confirmed booking, log into your Account and go to the Bookings section. Choose the desired booking and scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on the red button 'Cancel this booking.' If the booking request has not yet been accepted by the Provider, you will not be charged anything. However, if the booking has already been accepted by the Provider, the cancellation policy will apply. Cancellation policies are proper to each provider. You can find them on the Provider's Listing page. Please make sure to read them before placing a booking request to find out about the conditions for cancellation and reimbursement. Cancellation is possible until the date and time of the booking. If you would like to dispute the cancellation conditions (for instance if you had to cancel last minute because of force majeure and still would like a full refund), you can 'Open a mediation.' In this case, we do advise you to always discuss with the Provider to try and find an agreement first.

In case of a cancellation, we will always fully reimburse the Parentally platform fees, whatever the reason and timing.

IMPORTANT: Please note that we at Parentally are not meant to interfere with a transaction between a user and a provider. We only act as an intermediary to connect both parties. However, we will always do our best to make sure both the user and the provider find a convenient solution, should one decide to cancel a booking.

Unfortunately, you cannot modify a booking request or confirmed booking once it’s been placed. If you want to change a booking, please cancel the ongoing booking and place a new one.

17. How to join a video consultation

If the consultation you booked is to be delivered via video consultation (as per your booking details), the link to the video consultation room will automatically appear on your Booking details page. To join the video consultation, log into your account, go to the “Bookings” section to show your Booking details page and click on the “Join the video consultation” button under the name of the “Services” you booked. Please note that joining the video consultation is only possible if the provider has launched the video consultation on their end. You can always contact the provider by using their contact details displayed at the top of your Booking details page.

18. How to leave a review

After a consultation with a provider, you will be able to leave them a review consisting of a rating (up to 5 stars) and a comment. You can do so by clicking on the link you will have received per email after your consultation (please check your spam folder if you don’t find the email in your mailbox). Alternatively, you can go to your Booking details page and click on the “Leave a review” button. Reviews are very helpful for other parents as they can help find out if a provider is a right match for their needs. We highly encourage you to leave a review after a consultation, it will only take a minute!

19. How to dispute a transaction

We hope you were satisfied with the service you booked on Parentally. However, we understand that things don't always go as expected. Should you wish to dispute a transaction, you can do so by opening a mediation. Log into your account, go to the “Bookings” section in the drop-down menu or from your Dashboard, and show your Booking details page. At the bottom of the page, click on the “Open a mediation” button. 

You will be asked to leave a message to explain the situation, so we can be informed of the issue . We strongly recommend you to get in touch with your provider first to discuss the issue and try to find a solution.

IMPORTANT: Please note that we at Parentally are not meant to interfere with a transaction between a user and a provider. We only act as an intermediary to connect both parties. However, we will always do our best to make sure both the user and the provider find a convenient solution, should one decide to open a dispute.

20. How to download your data

We collect your personal data to be able to offer you our services. You can edit and download your account by logging into your account with your email address and password. Once logged in, click on your name at the top of the page to view the drop-down menu. Click on “My Profile” and go to the “Settings” section in the left-hand menu. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Download your data.” 

21. How to delete your account

We are sorry to see you leave the platform and hope you enjoyed using it. If you wish to delete your account, you can easily do so by logging into your account with your email address and password. Once logged in, click on your name at the top of the page to view the drop-down menu. Click on “My Profile” and from there, go to the “Settings” section in the left-hand menu. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Delete your account.” Please note that deleting your account is permanent and cannot be reversed.
