While certain sports should be avoided by expectant women, exercise in general is certainly recommended during pregnancy. For instance, regular physical activity will help boost your energy level, keep you fit for labour, decrease stress level and/or help relieve from mild pregnancy discomforts. Prenatal yoga classes, prenatal Pilates or pregnancy workouts are typical examples of recommended practices specifically tailored to the needs of pregnant women. Please note: before booking, always discuss with your midwife (or assigned healthcare professional) if it is safe for you to do physical activity and mention any condition you may have with the instructor at the beginning of the practice so they can adjust accordingly.
