Every pregnant woman in the Netherlands will have heard about “Kraamzorg” or “Kraamverzorgster”! This unique Dutch postnatal care provides key support in the first week after your baby is born. Your “kraamverzorgster” or “maternity nurse” will be spending several hours a day with you, at home, for approximately a week. You will certainly share special moments with her (your baby’s first bath or your first walk outside, for example) which is why it is best to find a nurse with whom you feel comfortable and safe.
