This 30-minute 1-on-1 postpartum coaching session in offered online, from the comfort of your home.

Taking care of a newborn baby while adjusting to your new role as a mother is challenging. Especially if you or the baby are not doing well. In this case a little extra help can make all the difference.

If you want to get 1 on 1 coaching from me, please book the free and non binding consult and let me know in the message about you and what I can help you with. We will then discuss what is best for your situation and make an appointment to get started!

→ When is 1 on 1 Coaching a good choice?
It may be that the postpartum period is different than you imagined. Perhaps you had not thought much about this period or perhaps you had a very concrete idea or picture in your head. And if that goes differently in practice, it can be quite disappointing.

Maybe you have a baby who cries a lot or sleeps badly. Maybe your own recovery is going slowly. It could also be that the pink cloud that everyone is talking about is hard to find or you have no idea what “normal” is.

Getting to know your baby and all the developments he / she goes through takes time and patience. That includes not knowing something. But sometimes there is too much that you don’t know and help can be very nice. You may have all kinds of questions and are looking for someone with experience and reliable knowledge who can help you. And that’s where I can help you!
With my practical experience I know quickly what is needed for you and your baby, and if necessary I make use of my extensive network of healthcare professionals.

And then suddenly you are a mother of a beautiful baby. A whole new world opens up to you that you have to navigate through largely by yourself. The days are mostly filled with feeding your baby and you learn all kinds of new words like cluster feedings, breast pads or nipple caps. So many mothers are working hard to learn how to breastfeed. While some find it easy, others have to work very hard, with many moments of doubt as to whether it wouldn’t be better to stop. Or the search for a balance, which is lost in the first period. How do other mothers do this?

The Course 'Being Mom' is offered online via Zoom in 5 group sessions of 1,5 to 2 hours. You will receive an invitation and you can participate directly from your own home. You only need a computer / tablet and a good internet connection.

The online groups consist of a maximum of 8 people (with or without a partner).

→ When? Every Friday from 10:00-12:00

The ideal time to start with this course is from 2 weeks up to 16 weeks.

→ What do you get?
* A realistic view of motherhood, by exchanging experiences with mothers who are in the same phase as you
* A network of other mothers
* Online environment with reliable information about the postpartum period
* Me as a source of information where you can ask ALL of your questions you might have.
* More self-confidence and trust in your own intuition.

→ What does the course involve exactly?
The course actually consists of two parts. Part 1 is an online environment where you get access to videos where I discuss numerous topics that you can watch in your own time.
Here are some examples of the topics that will be covered:
* Sport and exercise: What can you do to get in shape? And what is not advisable?
* Breastfeeding and powdered milk: My tips and advice
* Changes in your brain. Why have I lost some of my words and forgotten so much? Is this going to be okay?
* Rhythm and sleep: If I want to introduce a rhythm, where do I start? What are good sleep associations? And how do they contribute to sleep? How do I teach my baby to fall asleep independently?
* Selfcare: How do I take good care of myself so that I can continue to take care of my baby?
* Communication with your partner: How do we ensure that we can continue to communicate even with a lack of sleep and little time for us?
* Nutrition: How can nutrition contribute to my recovery?
* Back to work: How do I do that? How can I work on a balance between home and work?
* Development of my baby: What can I do as a parent to support this?
Part two consists of a weekly meeting. Each week you will have an online meeting together with other mothers. There is time to ask questions and exchange experiences. In addition, we work on personal development. With fun and useful assignments, we dive into your new role and everything that comes with it. There are 5 meetings in total.

You can already prepare yourself for the postpartum period while you’re pregnant. In this (online) course I’ll give you information and tips, so that you can enjoy your baby the best way possible in those first weeks.

♥︎ Please contact me before booking or book the free and non-binding consult to discuss your needs and check the availability of the course.

→ What do you get?
* Useful tips for the first weeks after giving birth
* Maternity plan tailored to your wishes
* A realistic picture of the first weeks after giving birth
* The confidence that you know what is coming your way after your delivery and how to deal with it

→ What can you expect from the course?
Good preparation is half the job. I have been able to guide many newborn mothers in my work as a midwife and very often I was asked: “Why is so little information about the postpartum period given during pregnancy?”.

This is partly because the focus is often on pregnancy and delivery. When the baby is born and the maternity caretaker leaves after a week, many parents notice that they actually know little about this period. Especially in a period when you are sleep deprived, your body functions differently and you have little time for yourself. Caring for a newborn baby is a full-time job, so it is wise to prepare yourself well for this period.

During my second pregnancy, I paid specific attention to the preparation for my postpartum period. This preparation made a world of difference to me and my family. I had more peace of mind, housekeeping ran smoothly and my partner and I both had more time to get used to having a second baby in the house. I grant this to every prospective parent and that is why I have bundled my knowledge in a course. The course is not only in the interest of the mother but also underlines the important role of the partner during the postpartum period.

→ What will you learn?
We make a maternity plan where I help you with questions to think carefully about how you would like to see the first 6 weeks. I will give you information about nutrition, household, visits and time for yourself so that you can get to know your baby with more peace of mind and self-confidence.

You also get a realistic picture of a normal maternity period with the beautiful moments but also when it is less rosy. I will give you examples of what a day looks like during the maternity period with useful information and techniques that really benefit you.

Other topics that I discuss during this course include sleep rhythms, breastfeeding, important information about recovery from childbirth and mental health. Because in addition to getting used to your baby and your new role, lack of sleep often has a big impact on yourself but also on the communication with your partner. How to maintain an open communication with your partner is vital to support each other so i also give some tools how to achieve that.

I am convinced that realistic expectations and a positive mindset contribute to a positive maternity period.
