Karen Goldman is a qualified antenatal teacher trained by the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) in the UK. Karen has 17 years’ experience teaching antenatal classes

Karen trained in the UK with the NCT at the University of Luton. She taught childbirth preparation for over 10 years in the UK before she moved to the Netherlands in 2007. She aims to provide classes in a relaxed and informative setting in which mothers and their partners can learn about what to expect and become better prepared to make positive and informed decisions about pregnancy, labour and the early post-natal period, here in the Netherlands. Establishing friendships and support networks is also recognised as an important part of the course, especially among the Expat community.

Karen holds a Diploma in Antenatal Education from the University of Luton, and, after further training, earned an Advanced Teachers’ certificate from the NCT. Karen also qualified to teach Baby Massage with Peter Walker, Yoga for Pregnancy with the National Childbirth Trust and Mum and BabyYoga with the Berkshire Birth Company.

Karen has also practiced as a Doula for the last 16 years, initially training to support women prisoners in the UK and now practicing independently in the Netherlands. Her holistic Doula service include antenatal education and support, continuity of care throughout the birth (in Hospital or at home) and further assistance and continued postnatal support.
