Introduction
You might have heard a friend or your midwife talk about a birth plan. A plan about what you would like for your birth. It has become an important document to take with you to your birthing space (home/birth centre/hospital) and to share with your care providers.
We believe that the process of walking through your birth ahead of time can be beneficial. You have a chance of talking through certain moments in a birth, thinking and feeling things through. Most importantly you will discover your set of values around birth – a sort of personal philosophy of birth. Within a Birth Philosophy we can hold many situations (foreseen and unforeseen) so that it can help you navigate your birth - as opposed to a ‘plan’ which is a more fixed document.
In our private Birth Philosophy Session we sit with you (and your (birth)partner) and talk through your ideas and beliefs around birth. We provide you with a Birth Philosophy outline (like a birth plan document) and help you fill it out in preparation for your birth.
